SnapRedact terms of use
Effective date: 8 November 2026 (2026-11-08)
These terms apply to SnapRedact – Full-Page Screenshot & Blur, provided by Matheus da Silveira Mello, an individual developer based in Portugal. Contact: matheus.mello.developer@gmail.com. By installing or using SnapRedact you agree to these terms.
1. Use and licence
You may use SnapRedact free of charge, without an account, for personal or internal business purposes under a non-exclusive licence. These terms grant no ownership of the extension or of content you capture. SnapRedact is not directed at children under 13.
2. Your content and responsibilities
Capture only content you are entitled to access and use. Respect privacy, confidentiality, copyright, website terms and applicable law. You control what you capture, retain, export and share. Protect your browser profile and review the privacy policy for session-memory retention, stored preferences and consent, exports and deletion of old captures.
3. Features and limitations
SnapRedact provides visible-area, selected-area and scrolling captures, local editing and redaction, PNG, JPG and PDF downloads, PNG clipboard output. New captures and edits stay only in session memory. Very tall captures are split. Memory limits, browser restrictions, page changes and compatibility can limit operation or cause incomplete captures and lost data.
Auto-blur is a pattern-based helper and can miss sensitive information or mark harmless text. It does not recognise text inside images. Blur and pixelation may leave information recognisable. Use solid Cover or Crop for sensitive areas, inspect the final export, and avoid quick copy when review is needed. No redaction tool guarantees confidentiality.
Choose Agree and continue before capture or scanning. Not now leaves capture disabled. Withdraw consent in Settings to block new captures, pending handoffs and Copy or Download from existing editors; agreeing again does not reauthorize earlier captures. Export-format, Auto-blur and quick-copy preferences and the consent record persist locally.
Closing or reloading the editor discards its capture and edits; a worker restart before handoff can lose a pending capture. Original pixels and undo history can remain in an open editor after editing or export; withdrawing consent does not erase them. Only Copy, Download or explicitly selected quick copy exports pixels. Keep needed exports safely. Captures saved by an earlier version remain until you confirm Delete old captures in Settings; this version cannot open or export them. Deletion and uninstalling do not erase downloads, clipboard contents, backups or shared copies.
4. Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by law, SnapRedact is provided “as is” and “as available”, without a guarantee of accuracy, availability, compatibility, complete redaction or error-free operation. Check results before relying on them.
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or business loss arising from use of SnapRedact. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, wilful misconduct or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or limits mandatory consumer rights.
5. Changes and stopping use
The extension and these terms may be updated or the extension discontinued. Material changes to these terms will be published here with an updated effective date. You may stop using SnapRedact and uninstall it at any time.
6. Governing law
Portuguese law governs these terms. Consumers retain protections under the mandatory laws of their country of residence and may bring claims in courts available under applicable law.
